What to Do Immediately After a Crypto Scam

The first hours after a suspected crypto scam matter. Do not send another payment, even if the person promises to release your balance after one final fee.

Preserve the full record of the event: wallet addresses, transaction hashes, exchange receipts, account names, messages, emails, screenshots, and dates. Copy links as well as taking screenshots.

Report the incident to the exchange or wallet provider involved. Their support teams may be able to mark related accounts, preserve account activity, or advise on the next reporting path.
